Will my child be safe in BABYBJÖRN High Chair?
Yes. The high chair’s adjustable safety table should be secured close to your child’s body. Your child will then be seated both stably and safely in the high chair, without being able to get up. The childproof, two-stage lock ensure that children can neither open nor close the high chair, or fold it into transport mode on their own.
How does the high chair’s table work?
The safety table serves as a safety lock and should be secured snugly against your child’s body so that he or she cannot get up. When closed, the table can be adjusted to various positions by pressing the red adjustment button on the bottom of the safety table.
When is it OK for my child to begin using BABYBJÖRN High Chair?
BABYBJÖRN High Chair is the ideal first chair starting from when your child is at least 6 months and can sit up on his or her own.

Keep in mind:
Never leave your child unattended.
Always hold your child firmly when you lift him or her in and out of the high chair. Make sure the safety table is locked into the “in use” position before letting go of your child.
Always adjust the safety table to fit snugly against the child’s body, to ensure that he or she cannot climb out.
The child should not sit in the high chair with the safety table in the open position.

Why a high chair?
Mealtime can be the most precious time of the day in a family; it can also be the most challenging. In our mission to simplify everyday life and try to make the first years more enjoyable for families with small children we have now developed a new product that we believe will do just that.
What did we do?
We started to study different high chairs and children in high chairs at mealtimes. Our findings resulted in a prototype which we started to test – in families and with paediatricians. The first prototype was without a table, for children who could sit unaided (6 months – around 3 years). With safety, user-friendliness and our Swedish origin in focus we chose plastic as a material because it is easy to clean and also strong and durable. We made a space-saving design for easy storage - a high chair that is simple to collapse when putting it away or taking it on the road.
After the initial testing, we created a new prototype. In order to keep the children from standing up and falling out we added a foldout, adjustable table and all the tests we made told us to keep the table. It works as a safety lock that holds the child securely in place with no need for a harness. We gave the high chair an encircling design, with a curved back support and adjustable, shell-shaped table that ensures that the child sits comfortably and securely. The design also simplified it for the parent to place the child in the high chair and taking him or her out, involving no high lifting. To make it easy to clean we provided the high chair with easy-clean surfaces and a detachable tray that can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. We made sure it would protect against spills by making the table adjustable to fit snugly against the child’s body.
Children are by nature curious and ready to learn. The high chair was constructed so that it allows the child to sit with everyone else at the table. That way the social and linguistic development is stimulated and it is easier for the child to learn to eat and drink for him or herself - and having a good time doing so.

The entire process from idea to product took about eight years. It was challenging and even put on hold for about two years but we never gave up. The result is the BABYBJÖRN High Chair - with its unique design and safety solution, which makes mealtimes more enjoyable and safe.
