Baby Wearing Guide
What are the benefits to baby carrying?
A baby carrier has many practical benefits, but the most important reason for carrying your baby close to you is the great need babies have for physical contact with and closeness to their parents. The closeness that you both experience when you carry your baby strengthens the all-important bond between you. BabyBjörn Baby Carriers give you the opportunity to stay close to one another often – even when you need your hands free for everyday tasks. Since our first carrier was introduced in 1973 The BabyBjörn family has kept safety as our number one priority for your newborn. Though we've made plenty of updates to our carriers since the "Close to Heart" carrier was released, you can rest easy knowing that your child is safe and close in a BabyBjörn Baby Carrier.
How do I know which BabyBjörn carrier is right for me?
We’ve developed a wide range of carriers to suit your and your baby’s needs. We recommend comparing our entire line of baby carriers to see what’s best for you and your child. If possible, try out a few different models in store to test your comfort levels and wear-ability. We created a comparison chart for all of our carriers here.
We're happy to help walk you through all our carrier models to find the best fit for your family. When can I start using BabyBjörn Baby Carriers?
You can start using Baby Carrier Mini from newborn (at least 3.2 kg and 53 cm) to around 12 months (max. 11 kg).
You can start using Baby Carrier Move from newborn (at least 3.2 kg and 53 cm) to around 15 months (max. 12 kg).
Baby Carrier One and One Air can be used from newborn (at least 3.5 kg and 53 cm) up to about 3 years (max. 15 kg and 100 cm).
Baby Carrier Harmony can be used from newborn (at least 3.2 kg and 53 cm) to around 3 years (max. 15 kg)
Is my baby's position anatomically correct in BabyBjörn Baby Carriers?
Yes, when your baby sits in a BabyBjörn Carrier their legs, hips, and spine are in the same position as when you carry your child in your arms. According to pediatricians, an upright position that ensures free air passages, free movement for the legs and arms and good support for the neck and head is the optimal position for a newborn. Our Baby Carriers meet all of these important orthopedic requirements for small children.
Read more about what pediatricians have to say about our baby carriers.
Do BabyBjörn Baby Carriers suit parents of any particular size?
Our baby carriers are designed to be flexible to fit parents from size S to XL. With a few simple strap adjustments, our carriers can adapt to parents of all sizes.
Check out our comparison chart to see which carrier best suits your body type and needs and view our helpful videos here.
How long can I carry my child at a time?
You can carry your child in a BabyBjörn Baby Carrier for as long as he or she is content. However, small children should not be still in the same position for long periods of time. We therefore recommend that you always pay attention to your baby’s signals and vary between the baby carrier and, e.g., a bouncer, stroller and crib/cradle.
When can my child face outwards in a BabyBjörn Baby Carrier?
The Baby Carrier Mini, Free/Move, One/One Air, and Harmony are all compatible for outward facing carrying. Following advice from pediatricians we collaborate with, we recommend that your baby be carried facing inwards in the baby carrier until around five months of age. Before this age, baby’s neck muscles, spine and hips are not sufficiently developed. Once they can support their heads independently, you can transition to outward facing.
Caring for your BabyBjörn
How do I wash my BabyBjörn plastic products?
BabyBjörn kitchen plastics are all dishwasher safe. Use the top rack to avoid close contact to the heating element of the machine. You can also hand wash with dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge.
BabyBjörn bathroom plastics should be rinsed under running water and wiped clean with a gentle cleansing product and non-abrasive sponge.
How do I wash my BabyBjörn fabric products?
You can machine wash all of our baby carriers and baby bouncer fabric seats (warm/40°C). Wash your baby carrier separately, preferably in a washing bag, and use a mild, bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry. We do not recommend fabric softener, and none of our products should be ironed. Our mesh fabric products dry very quickly thanks to their airy fabric.
Safety, Testing and Materials
Will the carrier help solve hip dysplasia? Or is it neutral in the sense that it does not exacerbate the syndrome?
A baby carrier can never cure a hip condition, and only medical devices can treat hip dysplasia. It is possible to use a baby carrier when undergoing different treatment methods, but always consult your healthcare provider!
What does it actually mean to be an “IHDI research partner”?
We are proud to be a research partner with IHDI! This means that we contribute to their research on hip health and support families affected by hip dysplasia. It also means that they provide guidance as we develop our products.
Are there any positions in a carrier that can be harmful for a baby?
With regards to the hips, being in a baby carrier where the legs are spread apart is not harmful. For general safety, however, it is very important to follow guidelines for a safe position, especially regarding the baby’s airways.
Why does BabyBjörn not talk about the M position?
We talk about the M position as one of many great positions, since there is no single position that is correct. Babies will and should naturally be in many different positions during the day, from sleeping on their backs, tummy time and being in a car seat or pram, to being carried in your arms and a baby carrier.
What does hip-healthy or hip-friendly mean?
All BabyBjörn baby carriers are ergonomic and acknowledged as hip-healthy carriers by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. This means that the baby carriers spread the legs apart and support healthy hip development.
Why has Mini been approved now? What has changed?
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has re-evaluated baby carriers in general. As there is no evidence showing any link between hip dysplasia and baby carriers that spread the legs apart, they are now acknowledging Mini as hip-healthy. Nothing has changed in the design of the baby carrier or its features.
Is Baby Carrier Mini certified by the IHDI?
Yes, Baby Carrier Mini is acknowledged as hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
Is my baby’s position anatomically correct in a BabyBjörn baby carrier?
Yes, our baby carriers are developed to respect the small baby’s anatomy and the incredible growth that happens during the first year. As long as the babywearer respects the breathing conditions and keeps the legs separated with room for movement, the baby is in a good position. Our baby carriers are acknowledged as hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.

If you ever have any questions about how to carry your baby, please reach out to our Care Team via email, phone or chat. You can also book a virtual consultation or watch our helpful videos here.
Can carriers cause hip problems in babies?
All newborns are checked by a medical professional immediately after birth to make sure their hips are developing normally. Doctors then provide treatment for any identified problems. There is no evidence showing any link between hip dysplasia and baby carriers that keep the legs apart.
When designing our baby carriers, we collaborate with doctors who specialise in paediatric orthopaedics to ensure that the carriers provide well-adapted support for the baby’s hips, neck and back. All BabyBjörn baby carriers are acknowledged as hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
Almost all of us here at BabyBjörn have children, and we work closely with paediatricians and other medical experts when we develop our baby carriers. We also confer with midwives, safety experts from test institutes, and other specialists. Without their approval, we would not allow parents to use our baby carriers. To date, more than 50 million babies all over the world have been carried in a BabyBjörn baby carrier.
Why is the baby’s position in a baby carrier so important?
There are many positions in a baby carrier that are good for the baby. What is most important is that the baby’s airways are free and their head is supported when they cannot hold it up unaided. All BabyBjörn baby carriers are hip-healthy and provide your baby with the proper support for their hips, thighs, neck and back while still allowing unobstructed movement. We recommend carrying your baby facing inward from birth to five months while they are still small and need proper support for their neck muscles.
The logo on my product does not match the logo on your website/my packaging. Did I get a counterfeit item?
We’re glad you noticed the change! We initiated this new logo in 2022 and production took some

Baby Carriers & Accessories
Baby Carrier Mini
Can I wash my Baby Carrier Mini?
Yes, like all our baby carriers, Baby Carrier Mini is machine washable. Machine wash at 40°C. Wash separately, preferably in a laundry bag. Use an eco-friendly, mild and bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry. Since our fabrics are free from harmful substances, there’s no need to wash your Baby Carrier Mini before you start using it.
What’s the difference between Baby Carrier Mini and Baby Carrier Original?
The difference between Baby Carrier Mini and Baby Carrier Original is that Baby Carrier Mini is made of new materials that are supersoft and gently hug your baby’s body. The seat area of Baby Carrier Mini is wider and provides better support for your newborn’s legs and hips when you’re babywearing in the facing-in position.
How do I adjust the head support on Baby Carrier Mini?
All BabyBjörn Baby Carriers have a head support that should be used until your baby’s neck muscles are strong enough to hold your baby’s head up unaided. Adjust the head support by tightening or loosening the short straps beside the baby’s head. Check that your child has enough space around their head to ensure free air passages at all times.
What should I keep in mind when I adjust Baby Carrier Mini?
There are a few basic rules to ensure the best comfort for both baby and babywearer.
1. Start by adjusting the baby carrier according to your baby’s height. Check the size instructions on the inside of the baby carrier and adapt it using the fully adjustable double buckle.
2. Put on the harness and attach it to the front section of the baby carrier by locking the double buckle. It’s securely locked in place when you hear a separate click from the left and right side of the double buckle.
3. Remember that you can adjust how high up you’re carrying your baby by moving the double buckle.
4. You should carry your baby high enough for you to be able to kiss the top of your baby’s head.
Adjust the baby carrier’s shoulder straps to fit your body size. The back cross should be level with the lower part of your shoulder blades for maximum carrying comfort.
How do I adjust my Baby Carrier Mini to fit my growing baby?
All BabyBjörn Baby Carriers are fully adjustable to fit your growing child. The size adjustment is located on the inside of the seat area, i.e. under the baby’s bottom. You use the double buckle to adapt the baby carrier according to your child’s height.
What is BCI-certified cotton?
The cotton that we use in our baby carriers carries the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) logo: this means that it’s been produced in a more sustainable way that’s better for the environment it grows in and for the people who produce it. This includes using less water and fewer chemicals than conventionally grown cotton. You can read more about BCI here.
What are 3D fabrics?
Our 3D Mesh and 3D Jersey are 3D fabrics – also known as spacer fabrics. This means that they consist of three layers – an inner layer, an outer layer and a middle layer. Instead of padding, the middle layer is made of a fine, single-fibre thread that makes the layer airy so that the fabric “breathes”. The 3D fabrics that we use to make our baby carriers give them stability, at the same time as they ensure a good airflow, and wick away heat and moisture.
Which accessories are available for Baby Carrier Mini?
There are two practical accessories for Baby Carrier Mini: the BabyBjörn Bib for Baby Carrier Mini protects your baby carrier from dribble and the BabyBjörn Cover for Baby Carrier keeps your baby warm when it’s cold outside.
When should I use the leg straps?
The leg straps are intended to reduce the size of the leg openings for smaller babies. The leg straps should be used when your baby weighs between 3.2 kg and 4.5 kg. The size may also vary depending on the amount of clothing the baby is wearing. Always make sure that the leg straps are not too tight around your baby’s legs.
What material is used to make Baby Carrier Mini?
Baby Carrier Mini is available in three different materials: Cotton, 3D Mesh and our new 3D Jersey.
Our baby carrier in BCI-certified satin-woven cotton is cooler, lighter and slightly stretchier than earlier versions of our cotton baby carriers. Our mesh and jersey materials are incredibly soft, ensure a good airflow, and stay cool and comfy when you’re babywearing.
The fabrics in Baby Carrier Mini have been developed specifically for BabyBjörn and are designed to suit newborn babies.
All fabrics are approved for baby products in accordance with OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class I. This guarantees that they are free from harmful and allergenic substances. That’s important to us!
When can I start using Baby Carrier Mini?
You can use the baby carrier for your newborn from day one, provided your baby weighs at least 3.2 kg. Always use the leg straps when your baby weighs between 3.2 kg and 4.5 kg.
Baby Carrier Move
Can I carry my baby in the facing-out position in BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Move?
Yes, from five months of age and once your baby can hold their head up unaided, you can fold down the head support and babywear in the facing-out position in Baby Carrier Move. By this time, your baby’s neck muscles, spine and hips will have stabilised.
Can I wash Baby Carrier Move?
You can machine wash Baby Carrier Move at 40°C. Do not use a lower or higher temperature. Remember to wash your baby carrier separately and to use a laundry bag to protect it. Use a mild detergent and a short spin programme. Hang the baby carrier up to dry. Do not tumble dry or iron. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
How do I adjust Baby Carrier Move to fit my growing baby?
Baby Carrier Move is easy to adjust as your baby grows. You’ll find adjustment instructions and an adjustment buckle on the inside of the baby carrier’s front section. Adjust the buckle according to the length of your baby. The length setting is approximate. Hold the buckle flat. You may need to apply some force as the buckle is designed to be difficult to move for safety reasons. Should arms press on the lower or upper edge of the armholes, adjust the length setting.
How do I adjust Baby Carrier Move?
For the best comfort for both baby and babywearer:
1. Start by adjusting the baby carrier according to your baby’s size (length). See the size instructions on the inside of the baby carrier for the right setting.
2. Put on the harness and attach it to the front section of the baby carrier by locking the double buckle. It’s securely locked when you hear a separate click from the left and right side of the double buckle.
3. Remember that you can choose how high up you carry your baby depending on how high up you place the waist belt. Younger babies are often carried higher up than older babies, but pay attention to your baby’s needs and what you yourself find most comfortable.
How do I change to a wide-leg position in BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Move?
Gently lift your baby’s legs, set the seat adjustment buckle, and spread out the fabric so it supports your baby’s thighs and bottom. For secure closeness and good supervision, carry your newborn in the facing-in position and high up on your chest. Once your baby grows, you can carry them lower down to redistribute more of the weight on your shoulders to your waist/hips.
Is Baby Carrier Move safe for my baby?
All materials meet the criteria for OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 for baby products. This means that they are kind to your baby’s skin and safe to taste.
Baby Carrier Move complies with both the European EN 13209-2:2015 and the American ASTM F2236 safety standards for baby carriers.
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has tested Baby Carrier Move and classifies it as hip-healthy.
Baby Carrier Move has been developed in close collaboration with paediatricians to ensure that a newborn baby gets the best possible support for their entire body.
When should I use the leg straps?
The purpose of the leg straps is to reduce the size of the leg openings for a smaller baby. You should use the legs straps on Baby Carrier Move when your baby weighs between 3.2 and 4.5 kg. Remember that the amount of clothing your baby is wearing may also affect the size of the leg openings. Always double-check that the leg straps are not too tight around your baby’s legs.
When can I use Baby Carrier Move?
Baby Carrier Move is perfect to use from newborn, provided that your baby weighs at least 3.2 kg and is 53 cm long. Max. weight for Baby Carrier Move is 12 kg.
Baby Carrier Harmony
Can I wash Baby Carrier Harmony?
You can wash Baby Carrier Harmony in your washing machine at 40°C, neither hotter nor colder. We recommend washing your baby carrier separately and using a laundry bag to protect it. Avoid using fabric softener or bleach as this will impair the quality of the fabric. Hang the baby carrier up to dry. Do not tumble dry or iron.
Can the seat width be adjusted on Baby Carrier Harmony?
Yes, with Baby Carrier Harmony, you can easily adjust the seat width, length, leg position and the child’s seat area. In Baby Carrier Harmony, your baby sits with their legs wide apart and their bottom in a deep position. The baby carrier is ergonomically designed to be as comfortable as possible for both you and your baby.
How do I adjust Baby Carrier Harmony to fit my growing baby?
As your baby grows, you can easily adjust the height, leg position and seat area. The pressure-relieving waist belt sits at waist height when you carry your little newborn baby, and as your baby grows larger, you move the belt down to your hips. Before your baby can hold their head up unaided, good head support is essential to help hold their head in an upright position. Baby Carrier Harmony has a head support with three different positions, which you easily adjust using the poppers. Use the position that provides good head and neck support, and gives you good supervision of your baby.
How do I carry my baby higher up in Baby Carrier Harmony?
If you want to carry your baby higher up, lift them from underneath while you move the waist belt higher up. Then tighten the shoulder straps again. When your baby is very young, we recommend that they sit so high up on your chest that you can kiss their forehead.
How do I carry my child on my back in Baby Carrier Harmony?
Firstly, put on the baby carrier as usual. Your child should be facing you and sitting in the wide-leg position. Slightly loosen both shoulder straps. Slide one of your arms up under the shoulder strap and your other arm down under the lower part of the shoulder strap. Now the shoulder strap should be a closed loop around your body. Supporting your child’s body from underneath, slide them under your raised arm and onto your back. Avoid holding the safety buckles. Put the shoulder straps back in place and move the back yoke into a comfortable position. Finally, tighten the waist belt and the shoulder straps. Video tutorial.
How do I use the head support on Baby Carrier Harmony?
Before your baby can hold their head up unaided, good head support is essential to help keep their head in an upright position. Is Baby Carrier Harmony safe for my child?

This means that they are kind to your baby’s skin and safe to taste. It also means that there is no need to wash the baby carrier before you start using it. The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has evaluated Baby Carrier Harmony and classifies it as hip-healthy when used as directed. This means that the baby carrier provides the right support to your baby’s hips. When you buy a baby carrier from BabyBjörn, you can rest assured that you are making a good choice. BabyBjörn collaborates with medical experts and paediatricians, and always bases product development on the latest research. Throughout the entire process – from concept to finished product – we focus on safety and good ergonomics for both you and your child.
What makes Baby Carrier Harmony different from Baby Carrier One/One Air?
Baby Carrier Harmony is designed with a layer of stretchy meshfabric, while Baby Carrier One has a slightly sturdier construction with padding. The head supports are slightly different: although they are both adjustable, the head support on Baby Carrier Harmony offers three different positions. In addition, the back support on Baby Carrier Harmony is horizontally adjustable.
When can I use Baby Carrier Harmony?
You can use Baby Carrier Harmony from newborn (as long as your baby weighs at least 3.2 kg) and up to the age of about 3 years or max. 15 kg. You don’t need an infant insert in the early days, and as your baby grows, you can easily adjust the settings of the baby carrier to suit you and your baby.
When should I use the leg straps?
When your baby weighs between 3.2 and 4.5 kg, you should use the leg straps on Baby Carrier Harmony. The leg straps reduce the size of the leg openings, and are there to ensure that your child sits comfortably and securely. Always make sure that the leg straps are not too tight around your baby’s legs.
Which different babywearing positions does Baby Carrier Harmony offer?
Baby Carrier Harmony has two different height positions, which means that you can babywear from newborn and up to the age of three years. With just a few simple adjustments, you can vary your babywearing position from facing in to facing out on your front, and carrying on your back.
Your newborn baby needs a lot of closeness. At this age, it’s best to babywear in the facing-in position to strengthen the bond between you; the warmth of your breath and the sound of your heartbeat are reassuring to your baby. At about the age of five months, when your baby’s neck muscles are stronger, you can start carrying in the facing-out position – curious babies usually enjoy seeing what’s happening around them. When your baby is one year old, you can start carrying them on your back, which often feels more comfortable as your child grows heavier.
Baby Carrier One & One Air
How do I adjust the seat width of Baby Carrier One?
The seat width is fully adjustable with the help of two zips on the outside of the baby carrier. Open the zips wide enough to allow your child to move their lower legs freely. The zips can be locked in any position.
In the facing-in position, you open the zips wide enough to allow your child to move their lower legs freely, while keeping their knees in a high position. The zips can be locked in any position.
In the facing-out position, the zips should be completely open. When you carry your child on your back, the zips should always be completely closed.
How do I use the leg straps on Baby Carrier One?
You use the leg straps to reduce the size of the leg openings when your baby weighs between 3.5 and 4.5 kg. Fasten the loops onto the large buttons at the front of the baby carrier.
How do I adjust Baby Carrier One to fit a newborn or a larger baby?
Use the upper height position for a newborn. Use the lower height position for baby from 62-68 cm. Once your baby’s shoulders reach the head support buckle, we recommend adjusting to the lower height position. Always check that the zip is completely closed.
For how long can I use Baby Carrier One?
You can use Baby Carrier One from newborn (at least 3.5 kg and 53 cm) and up to the age of approx. 3 years (max. 15 kg or 100 cm).
How do I carry my child on my back in Baby Carrier One?
Firstly, put on the baby carrier as usual. Your child should be facing you and sitting in the wide leg position. Loosen both shoulder straps.
Slide one of your arms up under the shoulder strap and your other arm down under the lower part of the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap should now form a closed loop around your body.
Support your child’s weight from underneath as you swivel them around, under your raised arm, and on to your back.
Put the shoulder strap back in place and move the back yoke into a comfortable position.
Finally, tighten the waist belt and the shoulder straps.
Watch a helpful tutorial video here.
When can I start carrying my child on my back in Baby Carrier One?
Once your baby is 12 months old, he or she is big enough to be carried on your back in Baby Carrier One.
How do I put on Baby Carrier One?
The baby carrier is always delivered in the upper height position for newborn. If your baby is 62-68 cm long, you should switch to the lower height level for baby.
Put the baby carrier on over your head, like a sweater.
Position the back yoke below your shoulder blades and then buckle the waist belt at the back.
Loosen the shoulder straps and unfasten the headrest on both sides, as well as the safety lock on one side.
Place your baby in the baby carrier. Once your baby is in place and you have locked the safety lock, buttoned up the head support and the leg straps (if needed), you can adjust the shoulder straps and waist belt, so the baby carrier feels comfortable for both you and your baby.
What is the difference between Baby Carrier One and other BabyBjörn Baby Carriers?
BabyBjörn Baby Carrier One has four carrying positions in total. You can choose to carry your baby in the facing-in position at first and later in the facing-out position. You can also choose to carry your child on your back once they are 12 months old. You can use Baby Carrier One from the time your baby weighs 3.5 kg and up to 15 kg.
How do I use the head support on Baby Carrier One?
Adjust the head support by pressing the sides of the buckle inwards. This allows you to pull it up or down, like a zip, into the desired position. You then tighten the strap as much as required.
To fold down the head support, start by gripping the buckle for head support adjustment and pulling it down as far as possible (you may need to loosen the strap if it is too tight). Fold the head support outwards. Tighten the strap to keep the head support folded down.
How do I carry my baby higher up in Baby Carrier One?
If you want to carry your baby higher up, lift them from underneath while you move the waist belt higher up. Tighten the shoulder straps again. When your baby is very young, we recommend that you wear the baby carrier so high up on your chest that you can kiss your baby’s forehead.
When can I start carrying my baby in the facing-out position in Baby Carrier One?
We recommend that you carry your baby in the facing-in position until they are at least five (5) months old. Your baby’s neck, back and hips will then be sufficiently developed for you to be able to carry them in the facing-out position as well. The zips should be completely open in the facing-out position. At this age, most babies think it is fun to get a look at the exciting world around them, with their back safely resting against mum’s or dad’s chest.
What makes the new Baby Carrier One different from previous versions?
The fabric is more flexible, and lets you both see and feel that you’re carrying your newborn baby in a natural position, with their back in a C curve.
You can now select an even wider maximum seat area for your baby than you could in previous versions. The fully adjustable seat area means that you can adapt the seat width perfectly for your baby.
The head support is higher, so it gives a newborn baby more protection and neck support. You can adjust the firmness of the support it provides.
A new design that feels more like a big soft hug for you and your baby. The baby carrier is now more flexible, so babywearing brings you and your baby even closer.

Many babies suck and drool on the baby carrier when they are being carried facing outwards. More options are available here. They are, of course, also certified in accordance with OEKO-TEX Standard 100, class 1.

Our mesh fabric products dry very quickly thanks to their lightweight and airy fabric. If you have a baby carrier in mesh fabric, do not iron it!
My baby has colic. Can I carry him or her in BabyBjörn Baby Carriers?
Yes. If your baby has temporary stomach problems, it can help to carry your baby in a baby carrier where the baby is in an upright position. It can also be calming for your baby to be carried and to feel the security of being close to mum or dad.
Is the baby's position with respect to hips, legs and back anatomically correct in BabyBjörn Baby Carriers?
Yes, the baby’s hips, legs and spine are in the same position as when you hold your baby in your arms. According to paediatricians, an upright position that ensures free air passages, free movement for the legs and arms, and good support for the neck and head is the optimal position for a newborn. Our baby carriers meet all of these important orthopaedic requirements for small children.
Does a BabyBjörn Baby Carrier suit parents of any particular size?
Our baby carriers are designed to be flexible enough to fit parents of all shapes and sizes, from size S to XL. We recommend that you visit a retailer in order to test the baby carrier and to determine which model fits you best.

Bouncer Bliss
Bouncer Bliss
When can I begin using Bouncer Bliss for my baby?
The Bouncer Bliss can be used by your baby from birth (8 lbs/3.5 kg) until they weigh 29 lbs/13 kg (approx. two years old). The baby side should be used and the safety harness should always be buttoned up until your baby tries sit unaided or reaches 20 lbs. Once your child is able to walk or sit unaided, flip the fabric, and use the chair side as a chair for your child.
Note that there might be an interim period where neither the baby side nor the toddler side works for your little one. Store the Bouncer in a safe place until baby is ready for the toddler chair.
When do I use the baby side and when do I use the chair side on my Bouncer Bliss?
The bouncer has two sides:
The baby side can be used from the time your baby is newborn until they can sit up unaided. The baby side is designed for young babies and has a safety harness that should always be fastened. The safety harness has two different fastenings to allow you to adjust the size to fit your child.
When your child can walk and sit unaided, turn the fabric around and use the chair side. Your child can then use Bouncer Bliss as a chair. Your child will no longer need to use the safety harness, which is not possible anyway when the chair side is used.
How does Bouncer Bliss work for my child?
Your child’s smallest movements are turned into soft, soothing rocking in the bouncer. Babies practice their coordination and have fun at the same time. When your baby is very young, you can rock the bouncer with your hand. When your child is big enough and able to walk, you can reverse the fabric and your child can use Bouncer Bliss as a children’s chair. The bouncer can be used until your child weighs 13 kg. Our bouncers don’t need batteries or power cords, and make no annoying noises.
For how long can my child sit in Bouncer Bliss at a time?
You can let your child sit in Bouncer Bliss for as long as they are content. However, small children should not sit or lie still in the same position for extended periods. Therefore, we recommend that you pay close attention to your child’s needs and switch between the bouncer and e.g. a baby carrier, your arms, tummy time, pram or cot. For a little baby who is not able to sit unaided, you should always use the baby side of the fabric seat with the safety harness fastened.
Bouncer Bliss has three positions, which one suits my child?
The lowest position is used when your baby is newborn. The baby reclines comfortably with optimum support for their body and at the same time can have eye contact with their parents. Use the baby side of the fabric seat and always keep the safety harness fastened. Maximum weight is 7 kg.
You can begin to use the middle position when your child can hold their back and head upright easily in this position and you still use the baby side of the fabric seat with the safety harness fastened. Maximum weight 9 kg.
You can begin to use the highest position when your child can hold their back and head upright easily in this position and until your child can sit unaided. Use the baby side of the fabric seat and always fasten the safety harness. Maximum weight 9 kg.
When your child can walk and sit down unaided, you no longer need to use the safety harness. You can reverse the fabric and use the chair side. In this case, we recommend the following:
Lowest position up to 7 kg.
Medium position up to 10 kg.
Highest position up to 13 kg.
There may be an interim period when neither the baby side nor the chair side suits your child. This is when your child can sit unaided and is no longer using the baby side, but still isn’t walking and not quite ready to use the chair side.
Transport mode – when the bouncer is not being used. Bouncer Bliss can be folded into compact transport mode, which makes it easy to pack or store.
How do I change the position of my Bouncer Bliss?
Lift the positioner and move it into the desired position, at the same time as you lift the backrest with your other hand. To fold Bouncer Bliss flat for travel or storage, the positioner must be set to position A or B. Pull back the red safety latch and set the positioner to the transport mode, D.
From what material is the fabric seat of my Bouncer Bliss made?
Bouncer Bliss is available in 5 fabric collections.
Woven; 65% recycled polyester, 35% cotton
Woven Mélange: 100% recycled polyester
3D Jersey: 80% polyester, 16% cotton and 4% elastane
Quilted cotton: 100% cotton
Soft and airy mesh fabric: 100% polyester
The padding is 100% polyester
All fabrics in this product are kind to the child’s skin and completely safe to taste or suck on. They are approved in accordance with OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 for baby products, which guarantees that they are free from harmful and allergenic substances.
If you buy an Extra Fabric Seat for Bouncer you can still use the bouncer while the spare fabric is being washed.
How do I wash the fabric in Bouncer Bliss?
The fabric is easy to remove and machine wash separately at 40°C. We recommend using a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry and never iron the fabric as there is a risk this may compress the filling.
What makes Bouncer Bliss ergonomic?
Bouncer Bliss has a form-fitting fabric seat that gently moulds itself to the child’s body. The child’s weight is evenly distributed over the fabric seat, which results in good support for their head and back. All this gives your child an ergonomic reclining and sitting position.
What distinguishes Bouncer Bliss from the previous models, BabyBjörn Bouncer Balance/Balance Soft?
Bouncer Bliss suits modern homes, with its stylish design and soft contours. Its metal frame has a matching soft hue. One difference is that Bouncer Bliss is available in a cuddly quilted cotton fabric, in a soft and airy mesh fabric, super soft 3D Jersey fabric and cloud-like softness feel of Woven Mélange fabric.
Apart from this, all these bouncers from BabyBjörn have the same basic design, with natural bouncing, three different positions and a form-fitting ergonomic fabric seat. They all fold flat, have removable, machine washable fabric seats and a long period of use from 0 to 2 years.
Does the fabric seat from other BabyBjörn bouncer models fit Bouncer Bliss too?
Yes, the fabric seat for Bouncer Balance Soft also fits Bouncer Bliss and vice versa. But the fabric seat for the older models, Bouncer Balance and 1-2-3, does not fit Bouncer Bliss.
Bouncer Balance Soft
What distinguishes the Bouncer Balance Soft from the previous model, BabyBjörn Bouncer Balance?
The baby side is sewn as a cosy “nest” for your little baby. The safety harness is padded and folded over to be extra soft, since many babies like holding its edges. The safety harness is now fastened so it won’t come off and it has two different sets of buttons so that you can adjust the size to fit your child. The frame has also been given a more-rounded shape.
The new model has two sides – a baby side and a chair side. The baby side is used by newborns until they can sit unaided. Once your child can walk and sit unaided, turn the fabric around and use the chair side.
From what material is the fabric seat of my Bouncer Balance Soft made?
The Bouncer Balance Soft is available in several fabric collections:
Woven/Jersey, Tri-Fabric: The nest is made from 3D Jersey (80% polyester, 16% cotton, 4% elastane) and 3D mesh (100% polyester). The rest of the fabric seat is made from 65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton.
Woven: 65% recycled polyester, 35% cotton
Woven-Jersey: The nest is 80% polyester, 16% cotton, 4% elastane. The rest of the fabric seat is made from 65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton.
Cotton-Jersey: The nest is 80% polyester, 16% cotton, 4% elastane. The rest of the fabric seat is made from 100% cotton.
Cotton: 100% cotton
Mesh: 100% polyester
Does the fabric seat from older BabyBjörn Bouncer models fit Bouncer Balance Soft too?
No, they don’t fit very well. The fabric seat for the past Bouncer Balance model does not fit the Bouncer Balance Soft optimally. The fabric seat for the older Bouncer 1-2-3 cannot be put on the frame of the Bouncer Balance Soft.
What makes the Bouncer Balance Soft ergonomic?
The bouncer has a soft shape that adapts to your child’s body. Your child’s weight is distributed evenly across the fabric seat, which provides good support for his/her head and back. All of this gives an ergonomic reclining and sitting position for your child.
How do I wash the fabric in Bouncer Balance Soft?
The fabric is easy to remove and should be washed separately in warm water (40˚C). Please use a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry and never iron the fabric, because this will cause the stuffing to be flattened.
How do I change the position of my Bouncer Balance Soft?
Lift the positioner and move it into the desired position, at the same time as you lift the backrest with your other hand. To fold up the Bouncer Balance Soft into transport mode, the positioner must be set to position A or B. Pull back the red safety latch and set the positioner to transport mode, D.
The bouncer has three positions, which one fits my child?
The lowest position is used for newborns. The baby lies comfortably with optimum support for the body and can, at the same time, have eye contact with the parents. Use the baby side and always fasten the safety harness. The maximum weight is 7 kg.
You can begin to use the middle position once your child can easily hold his/her back and head upright in this position. The baby side should be used here, with the safety harness fastened. The maximum weight is 9 kg.
You can begin to use the highest position once your child can easily hold his/her back and head upright in this position. Until your child can sit unaided, use the baby side and always fasten the safety harness. The maximum weight is 9 kg.
When your child can walk and sit unaided, you no longer need to strap them in. Instead, turn the fabric around and use the chair side. For the chair side, we recommend the following:
Lowest position up to 7 kg.
Medium position up to 10 kg.
Highest position up to 13 kg.
Transport mode – when the bouncer is not being used, it can be folded up into a compact transport mode and it is then easy to pack up or put away.
For how long can my child sit in the bouncer at a time?
You can let your child sit in the bouncer for as long as he or she is content. However, small children should not sit or lay still in the same position for long periods of time. Therefore, we recommend that you pay attention to your child’s needs and switch between using the bouncer and, for example, a baby carrier, your arms, a pram or a crib. You should always use the baby side with the safety harness fastened for small children who cannot sit unaided.
How does the Bouncer Balance Soft work for my child?
Your child’s smallest movements are turned into soft, soothing rocking in the bouncer. Babies practice their coordination and have fun at the same time. When your child is big enough and can walk unaided, turn the fabric around and use the bouncer as a high chair. The bouncer can be used for babies until they weigh 28 lbs/13 kg. Batteries are not required for our bouncers.
When do I use the baby side and when do I use the chair side on my Bouncer Balance Soft?
The bouncer has two sides.
The baby side is designed for use by newborns, until they can sit unaided. The baby side is designed for tiny babies and has a safety harness that should always be buttoned up. The safety harness has two different sets of buttons so that you can adjust the size to fit your baby.
Once your child can walk and sit unaided, turn the fabric around and use the chair side. The bouncer can then be used as a chair for your child. The safety harness cannot be fastened when using the chair side as, by this stage, your child will no longer need restraining.
When can I begin using the Bouncer Balance Soft for my baby?
The bouncer can be used by newborns (3.5 kg) until they weigh 13 kg (at approx. two years old). Until your baby is able to sit unassisted, the baby side should be used and the safety harness should always be buttoned up. Once your child can walk unaided, the chair side can be used as a comfortable chair.

Travel Cot
Is the material in the travel cot safe for my baby?
Yes. All fabrics close to your child are gentle against your child’s skin and safe to chew or suck on. They have been tested and approved in accordance with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I for baby products. This means that the textiles are free from health-hazardous substances and allergens.
From what age can my child use the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light?
The BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light has been designed for use from birth up to about three years. There is no weight limit, given that the mattress is directly on the floor. How long you can use the travel cot varies from child to child.
Some children can use the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light even after turning three. Others are more likely to escape and can’t use it as long. When your child tries to climb out of the travel cot, it is time to stop using it, so pay attention to whether he or she begins trying to get out of it.
What are the measurements of the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light and how much does it weigh?
The BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light weighs just 13 lbs/6 kg, which makes it easy to bring along both on shorter and longer trips.
Its measurements are as follows:
Mattress: 24x41x1.5 in/60x105x3 cm (EU version)
The frame’s measurements are/floor space needed is: 32x44x in/82×112 cm
Folded: 24x19x6 in/60x49x14 cm
Unfolded height: 25 in/64 cm
How do I fold up the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light?
First detach the mattress from the hooks. Fold up the mattress and put it in the storage bag. Fold one leg at a time and be careful to pull out the leg before you fold it in. Fold up the cot in the middle and put the cot in the bag.
Do I have to fasten the mattress to the red hooks?
We recommend that you use the hooks for the best possible safety.
How do I set up the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light?
You can quickly set up the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light with one simple step. Take the travel cot out of the storage bag. Hold on to the short sides so that the legs point down toward the floor and open it up in one movement. The legs fold out by themselves, but make sure that all four are in the right position.
Please note: Put the mattress in the travel cot and fasten it to the bottom by pulling the red loops through the holes in each corner and fasten them to the red hooks.
How do I wash the Travel Cot Light?
You can easily take off the mattress cover by opening the zipper on one of the short sides. Machine wash the mattress cover separately in hot water. Use a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry.
It is also easy to remove the fabric from the travel cot by opening the four zippers around the frame. Machine wash the fabric separately in warm water. Use a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry any of the parts.
The mattress itself is too large to be machine-washed. You can wash it gently by hand and rinse it off as needed.
Is there a maximum weight for the Travel Cot Light?
We have not listed a recommended maximum weight for the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light. The fact of the matter is that the unique design enables even you to get in the travel cot when putting down or picking up your child.
How long you can use the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light is very individual and varies from child to child. The age limit has nothing to do with weight. It is more about how likely children are to “escape” or try to climb in and out of the travel cot. We recommend that you stop using the BabyBjörn Travel Cot Light when your child begins trying to climb out of it.
What is the difference between the past versions of the Travel Cot Light and the new one with mesh fabric?
The cot itself is basically the same – it is still a travel cot that is easy to take along and easy to set up and fold up. However, the material is new: the travel cot now has mesh fabric all the way down to the floor around the sides. The reason is to make it easier for you to keep track of and keep an eye on your child in the travel cot. Since the product standard has changed, we have also added a new fastening device to the mattress.

Plate, Spoon & Fork
What can I do to make my BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork last longer?
Our best tip for making your BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork last longer is to use them together. The spoon and fork are specifically designed to be used with the plate and are perfect for a young child to use. Do not use with metal silverware since this could scratch the bottom of the plate.
Wash BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork with a mild dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge. Do not boil or sterilize. We recommend a maximum temperature of 194°C.
Bon appétit!
Can I sterilise or boil BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork?
We do not recommend sterilizing or boiling your Plate, Spoon or Fork. The maximum temperature they can withstand is 194°F, and if you overheat the material you risk damaging or deforming the products. We recommend that you wash your BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork before you use them with a mild dish soap or in the dishwasher.
Which plastics are used in BabyBjörn Baby Plate?
The edges of the spoon, fork and plate are made from Polypropylene (PP), and the rubber ring on the base of the plate is made from Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE). The inside of the plate is made from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS).
All BabyBjörn kitchen products are made from food-safe plastics and meet the applicable plastic safety requirements in both Europe and the USA. They are PVC-free and contain no Bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates, cadmium, lead or bromide. The plastic is also recyclable.
Can I wash BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork in the dishwasher?
Yes, it is fine to wash the plate, spoon and fork in the dishwasher. But you should avoid placing them near the dishwasher’s heating element.
What makes BabyBjörn Baby Plate, Spoon and Fork easier to eat with than other plates and silverware?
The plate’s three-leafed clover shape makes it easier for babies to scoop up the food instead of chasing it around on the plate. The rubber ring on the base of the plate makes it steadier on the table. The rounding of the edges makes it difficult for small hands to grip the plate and toss it aside.
The short handles of the spoon and the fork are easy for small hands to grip and fit just as well in both the right hand and the left hand. The bowl of the spoon is shaped like the plate and makes it easier for babies to scoop up the food onto the spoon.
My BabyBjörn Baby Plate is marked #7 on the underside, what does this mean?
The number on the underside of the plate tells you which plastics have been used to make it. Plastics are divided into seven different classes (for recycling), with Classes 1-6 standing for certain specific plastics. Class 7, however, refers to “other plastics”, meaning that this product is made from plastics other than those specified in Classes 1 to 6.
Our products belong to Class 7. They are always BPA-free and contain only food-safe and permitted plastics.

When can my child start using the BabyBjörn Baby Cup?
Your child can start using the cup from around 8 months as his/her first cup (child development is however individual and the age can therefore vary a bit). The cup’s grip-friendly shape and surface make it easy for small hands to lift and hold, while a big foot with a rubber ring on the base makes the cup stable and hard to knock over.
TIP: An adult can feed baby from the cup/hold the cup in the beginning and when the baby begins to get interested and has the motor skills to hold the cup, it becomes natural for the baby to do it himself/herself. Baby will love experimenting in the beginning and by filling small amounts at a time, spills will be a natural part of learning.
